Miami Correctional is plagued by chronic understaffing, violence, and severe health care failure. Two preventable deaths have occurred this year.
The actions of ICE are often illegal and immoral. Nationally, federal judges ruled over 4,400 times between October 2025 and February 2026 that the federal government was illegally detaining individuals.
Detention has a devastating impact on innocent children and families - every detention bed represents a family in crisis.

FACTS:
Regardless of a person’s immigration status, everyone is granted certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. These rights include, but are not limited to:
The right to due process
The right to legal representation
The right against unreasonable search and seizure
The right to not be arrested or detained without a valid reason
The right to record interactions with law enforcement
Deportation Statistics
From 2024 to 2025:
Arrests increased by 189%
Detentions increased by 225%
Comparing the last six months of the Biden administration to January 2026, based on a monthly average:
Deportations increased by 5 times
Street Arrests increased by 11 times
Arrests without criminal conviction increased by 8 times
Over 70% of Detainees have no criminal conviction
66,000 people are currently in detention, up by 27,000 since January 2025.
43,000 people were detained for some period of time in June alone
The Trump administration has detained at least 400,000 people
145,000 citizen children have experienced a parent detained
